Ship Gift List 2013 Update

With the rapid growth and changes here in Brazil every so often we need to update our list of things people may want to send to us.  Sometimes items are sent via mail or in a suitcase with someone who is visiting Brazil.  The items on the old lists are still welcome but we may have found a source to purchase them here so the need has somewhat lessened.  Items in BOLD RED are coveted because they are either impossible to find or just really expensive when we do find them.  Items put in the “Treasure Box” can be won by kids who memorize verses and receive points.  Each treasure is given a value and the children are able to earn 100 points for every verse on our list that they memorize.  The first five verses must be learned to earn a hardback Portuguese Bible but each one thereafter can be used for prizes.
PLEASE NOTE:  If shipping through the mail please DO NOT insure the package contents.  Even though packages sometimes do not arrive at their destination, whenever a package is insured it arrives here with a heavy import fee, which must be paid in order for the package to be received.  This fee is figured at 70% of the insured value and almost always is more expensive than the value of the package contents.  We have learned that insured packages invite such fees and it is better to risk the loss than guarantee paying double.

Reusable Packaging:
Bags of cereal, candy or other soft foods work great for packing material. Or also try: bags of cotton balls, travel packages of Kleenex, fruit snack packages, individual products in envelopes (Powdered drink mixes, dressing mixes, taco mixes).ZipLock Bags (with zippers): are great to keep things from spilling or melting into something else and we can reuse them. Also, if you partially blow them up and tape the opening they work great for “bubble” type packaging to fill holes and protect other items. We cannot get them here!
